Fort Lauderdale’s Sebastian Beach Dubbed the Hottest U.S. Gay Beach
Broward County’s tourism bureau recently announced that Fort Lauderdale’s Sebastian Beach has been named the “Hottest U.S. Gay Beach” by Out Traveler, a gay travel publication.
The popular gay beach, located along the corner of Sebastian Street and A1A, beat runner-up Fire Island at Lighthouse Beach. This is the second top LGBT recognition for the Greater Fort Lauderdale region.
“Fort Lauderdale had been stealing a lot of thunder lately from Miami, its famous neighbor to the south, and committing to LGBT tourism,” the publication said.
Prior to this, Greater Fort Lauderdale was awarded LGBT “Destination of the Year” in the 2014 ManAboutWorld Editor’s Choice Awards. LGBT travelers continue to be attracted to the area since Broward County lifted the ban on gay marriage just this month.
