At 25, LearnVest CEO Alexa von Tobel dropped out of Harvard Business School to dedicate herself to the company she founded just two years prior. Her mission: To help people master their personal finances—a skill she noticed wasn’t taught in schools across the country.
Her company was acquired by Northwestern Mutual for a reported $250 million in March, just days before she gave birth to her daughter. Now at 32, the Florida native gives us her recipe for success: hard work, a supportive family and mentors of all ages.

We got a pro tour of the luxury chopper, which runs from $6 million to $8 million. Capable of reaching speeds of up to 145 knots, this model can be used for leisure travel or emergency response.

It’s currently 24 degrees in New York City—and it’s only mid-December. If that weren’t reason enough for Northeast fashionistas to flock south for the winter, Fort Lauderdale is giving them one more: Underground Lauderdale Fashion Weekend. The inaugural beachside affair will kick off Jan. 26 to 29 with fashion, cocktails, parties, panels and pop-up shops aimed at locals and visitors alike.

The 57th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is officially underway with over $4 billion in yachts, marine equipment, luxury cars, art and more lined on docks along the Intracoastal.
More than 100,000 visitors from 30 countries are expected over the course of the five-day event, which began Thursday, Nov. 3, with a primetime preview and will run through Monday, Nov. 7.
