When one person in the family is ill, the entire family is impacted. Deliver the Dream’s three-day retreats provide structured, therapeutic activities for families experiencing a serious illness or crisis. Each retreat is focused on a specific illness or crisis such as autism, spina bifida, AIDS/HIV, cancer and others. DtD also provides one retreat each year for families with a recently returned combat veteran and families who have a parent with breast cancer. There is no charge, which includes lodging, all meals and activities. The core base of more than 300 volunteers are an important component to Deliver the Dream. On retreats, a volunteer is assigned to each family to assist them with their needs during the weekend. To date, DtD has hosted 160 retreats serving over a 1,000 families.
