Environmental Studies Council

The Environmental Studies Council was established to support, protect and enhance the unique environmental education programs of the Environmental Studies Center. The Council promotes and extends environmental awareness through community education, and supports the Center’s science-based, hands-on environmental education curriculum to students in Martin County. During school hours, the center is also open for free visits by the public interested in touring the aquariums, shark tank, turtle tank, Joey the Alligator and butterfly garden. The Council most recently raised funds for a new sea turtle exhibit, mangrove exhibit, and renovations to the River Scout, the Center’s boat used for exploratory field trips.
