A dreamy wedding

Lindsey Marie Johnson & Robert Kevin Monk

Wedding date: July 20, 2013

Where: Boca Raton Resort & Club

What they do: Kevin, 37, is a medical sales device rep and works for Spineology. Lindsey, 31, is a court reporter for U.S. Legal Support.

On selecting the Boca Resort as their venue: Lindsey had helped put together a charity event before Kevin proposed and knew immediately she wanted to get married there.

The engagement: Kevin surprised Lindsey on her 30th birthday with a trip on a small, four-seater plane. They toured the East Coast, flying low over the ocean and seeing the sights of the cities above. Mid-flight they opened a bottle of Champagne and Kevin popped the question.

Songstress Serenade: Lindsey surprised her new husband and her parents by singing songs to them. For Kevin, she sang “Not Even the King” by Alicia Keys. To pump up the crowd she moved into a rendition of “Feelin’ Good,” originally by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse.

Their Own Vows

Lindsey’s: “As every puzzle piece has a different edge, angle and curve, it’s like different personalities and relationships. No others would match up to fit me, except for you. You are that missing puzzle piece to complete our perfect picture, and may it be the cover page to our many chapters of our love story.

I promise to never let a day go by without you knowing how much I love you. I have found my forever. You’re my future, my flesh, my words, my thoughts, my movement, and I promise to follow you anywhere, everywhere, hand in hand and heart to heart…”

Kevin’s: “We all go through life hoping to fall in love with that special someone. We search for the one with qualities and values that match our own. You finally meet someone that makes you want to change and be a better person. Lindsey, from day one I got that feeling and knew you were that person...”

Memorable moments

Role Reversal: Lindsey had a “grooms-maid” as one of her bridesmaids. “He was a good sport – when all the groomsmen were given blue converse with their last names, he received pink ones,” she says.

Groom’s Cake: To pump up the groomsmen, the groom’s cake was a Bud Light cake stacked high with ice cold Bud. It was a hit.

Trash the Dress: Lindsey (clad in her wedding dress) and Kevin jumped off the top of her dad’s yacht into the ocean and took pictures in the water.
