The Faces of Fort Lauderdale
The FACE of TOURISM
Stacy Ritter | Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau
After 20 years in law and elected office, Stacy Ritter embarked on a new career path “selling sunshine and happiness,” and she’s not looked back since. As CEO and President of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau since 2016, Ritter promotes Broward County to tourists worldwide.
Recognizing that the beauty of Greater Fort Lauderdale goes beyond ocean and palm trees, Stacy has tapped into the cultural diversity many of us take for granted. “We are a true melting pot,” she says. “We’re not plagued with racial or religious strife, we have a huge LGBT+ community, and we all live together in harmony and respect.” Under her leadership, the CVB launched an unprecedented new destination brand initiative “Greater Together” to spread that message and to serve as a warm welcome and visitor invitation.
Ritter’s next step is retiring our years-old “Hello Sunny” promotion and replacing it with a new, yet-to-be-announced slogan. While it has yet to be unveiled, it will be geared to appeal to domestic and international travelers, promoting the cosmopolitan but easy-going destination Greater Fort Lauderdale has become–one where no matter who you are, you are welcome and embraced.
