Brunch At Pelican Grand Beach Resort’s OCEAN2000 Features A Buffet And Unbeatable Beach Views
If Sunday brunch is a fine art, then OCEAN2000 is an excellent connoisseur.
Although there are plenty of eateries located directly on the Intracoastal, Pelican Grand Beach Resort's OCEAN2000 is one of the few places in Fort Lauderdale where "waterfront dining" refers to the Atlantic Ocean.
Even though the hotel is located directly on A1A, as soon as you step inside you can’t hear a single car driving by. All you hear at the restaurant's outdoor seating area is the peaceful sound of waves crashing a few feet away from you.
OCEAN2000 has indoor and outdoor seating, but we recommend asking for a seat on the veranda for Sunday brunch. Once you’re feeling relaxed from the ocean and the sounds of live Caribbean steel drums, order a mimosa or head to the build-your-own bloody mary bar, featuring more than 50 toppings, and then hit the buffet.
OCEAN2000 serves a buffet brunch fit for royalty. What makes it so special? All of the options, which include made-to-order omelets, a crêpe station, a pasta station, a carving board, a raw bar and all the desserts you could crave.
Our personal favorites include the raw bar and the desserts. The raw bar includes freshly shucked East Coast oysters, Gulf shrimp, Jonah crab claws, a hand-rolled sushi boat and a ceviche station. Sweet treats like Key lime tarts, cakes, pies, fruit tarts, mini éclairs, cream puffs and a chocolate fountain are hard to resist.
