Slated to open this month on Fort Lauderdale Beach, Lona will bring haute Mexican cuisine and cocktails to the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort.
Chef Pablo Salas is behind the new restaurant, which will feature an indoor and outdoor bar, a special tequila tasting room and multiple private dining spaces, serving lunch and dinner daily.
Its sister space, Tinta, will handle breakfast services and is also available for private event buyouts and catered affairs.
Lona's menu will feature small plates ranging from spicy crab-infused guacamole with preserved lemon and roasted garlic, to zucchini flower empanadas and bone marrow tamales.
There will also be ceviche, tostados, tacos, enchiladas, grilled meals and more.
The bar will focus on agave-centric craft cocktails, freshly made margaritas, house-made sangrias, Micheladas and agave flights. The bottle menu will feature over 270 tequilas and close to 200 mezcals.
