Prezzo Restaurant Set To Reopen Later This Fall In Boca Raton

Coming in November to Park Place plaza, Burt Rapoport and Dennis Max will reopen the trattoria Prezzo, alongside James Beard Award-winning chef Mark Militello.

Rapoport and Max introduced the first wood-bruning pizza oven to South Florida when they opened Prezzo in Boca Raton in 1989, and later spread the restaurant chain to Aventura and South Miami. The partners sold the locations in 1999 and the locations later closed in the early 2000s. 

Militello will lead the kitchen as executive chef at Prezzo and the team plans to bring back favorite dishes from the 1990s menu including roasted garlic, focaccia bread sticks, wood-oven apple tarts, fusilli and chicken, house-made pasta dishes and wood-fired pizzas. 

New menu items will include oven-roasted vegetables and gluten-free pizza and pastas. Prezzo will also feature a cocktail menu and expansive wine list. 

The interior will mimic the original Prezzo locations in color, but with contemporary and modern enhancements designed by Pam Manhas. The centerpiece of the 4,300-square-foot restaurant will be the signature wood-burning oven.
