The History Of Gold Coast Magazine
To celebrate our 50th year anniversary, we went into the archives to bring you the extended history of Gold Coast magazine.
In April 2015, Gold Coast magazine celebrated 50 years of covering Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding areas.
Initially known as Fort Lauderdale Pictorial Life, the publication was started in 1965 by Yolanda Maurer, a social writer for what's now the Sun Sentinel. Bernard "Bernie" McCormick took over the magazine in 1970 and renamed it Gold Coast Pictorial. Years later, it became known simply as Gold Coast.
