10 Ways To Beat The Summer Heat In Boca Raton And Delray Beach

South Floridians live in the land of endless summer, so we're always beaching, kayaking and biking, but when true summer—the mid-90s average temperature of July and August—rolls around, you can find us keeping cool and staying hydrated in the most heavily air-conditioned of spaces.

When it's just too hot to stay outdoors, here's how to beat the summer heat in Boca Raton and Delray Beach.

Boca Raton Museum of Art

You've likely passed the Boca Raton Museum of Art countless times and have always thought to yourself that you'll visit eventually. Well, a humid summer day is the perfect excuse to stop in. Contemporary tapestries and murals, photographs from the Canadian Photography Institute of the National Gallery of Canada and work by pop artist John Boone are on exhibit until October. Spend an hour or two exploring the galleries, and grab a bite to eat at one of Mizner Park's many restaurants while you're in the area.

A movie outing might initially seem like the most generic thing to do to escape the heat, but iPic Theaters is a different kind of movie experience. The small chain of uber-luxury theaters features fully reclining plush seats, a food menu and limited bar menu with in-theater service and complimentary popcorn. See the latest blockbuster in well-fed style and comfort.

Paint and Sip Wine

Grab a friend and your favorite bottle of red and spend an evening painting a masterpiece at a local wine and art bar. You don't need to be a pro to create something worthy of hanging on your wall; instructors guide you step-by-step (and sip-by-sip) through the painting process. Typically, most studios are BYOB and a flat rate covers supplies (paint and a medium canvas), but some venues run food and drink specials as well.
