11 Most Romantic Things To Do For Valentine's Day 2017 In Broward County
Spoil your spouse or significant other this Valentine's Day with plans that are out of the ordinary.
Whether you're looking to head out on a boat or dine along the beach, here are the 11 most romantic things to do for Valentine's Day in Fort Lauderdale.
1. A Walk in the Park
Nature lovers can share a romantic experience at Birch State Park, but this won’t be any ordinary walk in the park. Park & Ocean, the park's new dining concept run by the owners of Solita & Mastino Italian and Beauty & The Feast, is hosting an exclusive Stroll in the Park dining experience on Feb. 14. Couples who purchase the package, priced at $49 per person, will follow a candlelit path to each culinary destination, all of which will feature a dish paired with wine, craft beer or a signature cocktail. The experience includes a boat ride across the water to the new restaurant, and guests can book seatings (or should we say strolls?) between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. For reservations, call 954.357.2606.
2. Action-Packed Evening
Skip dinner and a movie, and opt for an adventurous game night at Xtreme Action Park instead. The amusement venue is offering Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Specials for couples, including go-kart racing for two, roller skating for two, ropes course adventures, and bazooka blast sessions ($40 each). These include $10-$20 arcade cards and a voucher for food, drinks or ice cream.
3. Toes-in-the-Sand Dining
What’s better than dinner at a beachfront restaurant? Dinner right on the sand. Marriott Harbor Beach Resort will coordinate a romantic “Barefoot Dining” experience starting at $125 per person. Enjoy the ocean view and a private chimenea fire, with options to upgrade the dinner to include a bottle of wine, live music, and sand paintings or sculptures with a romantic message. (Sand art starts at $1,200.)
4. Book a Boat
How about a nautical affair? Boatsetter will arrange a fairy-tale Valentine’s Day experience aboard the most fitting boat for your outing. With the Love Boat package or Friendzone Demolisher (for those looking to take things to the next level), rent a private yacht with a charter captain as your guide, and enjoy champagne, appetizers and a custom bouquet of flowers. The U.S. Coast Guard Captain will lead the couple to a secluded spot and then conveniently disappear so they can enjoy their privacy. Half-day rentals start at $1,200 for the complete experience, and these packages are only available in South Florida.
5. Lots of Chocolate
Give your sweetheart something extra sweet. Find treats for chocolate lovers at Hoffman’s Chocolates, which offers chocolate-covered strawberries, dipped Oreos, and classic heart-shaped boxes of chocolate, plus a few Valentine’s Day specialties including long-stem chocolate roses wrapped in red or pink foil ($3.95); chocolate heart pops in milk, dark or white ($2.50); and Beary Cuddly Valentines ($14.95), a plush teddy bear holding a pack of chocolate-covered pretzels.
6. Surprise a SoBe Wine & Food Fest Fan
Still haven’t snagged your South Beach Wine & Food Festival tickets? Now until midnight on Feb. 14, you can use code VDAY17 to purchase a pair of tickets to Barilla’s Italian Bites on the Beach, hosted by Valerie Bertinelli and Alex Guarnaschelli, and receive two additional tickets to Bacardi On The Beach with Beats featuring Rev Run and DJ Ruckus. Both events take place later this month. The limited-time Fifty Shades of Food promotion also comes with a free copy of “Fifty Shades of Chicken: A Parody in a Cookbook” (yes, it’s as weird as it sounds) as a bonus.
7. Sensual Staycation
Take your beach staycation to the next level with Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach’s Romantic Getaway package. Visitors during Valentine’s Day will find chocolate-covered strawberries to welcome them in the lobby, along with a bottle of Champagne and truffles in their hotel rooms. All Sonesta guests enjoy views of the Atlantic or Intracoastal, and a buffet breakfast for two at Bistro is included in the stay.
8. Spa Specials
Enjoy some R&R as a couple, and feel especially at ease knowing that with this Valentine's idea, there’s no rush to make reservations. All throughout February, Spa Atlantic on Fort Lauderdale Beach is offering a “Red Hot Couples Therapy Package,” featuring a 50-minute hot stone massage with rose oil infused with Champagne and a side-by-side hot stone pedicure ($319). Couples will also enjoy complimentary Champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. For more South Florida spa specials this month, click here.
9. Get Romantic with Rosé
Plenty of local restaurants are offering Valentine’s Day specials and prix fixe dinners, but for an especially rousing rosé pairing dinner, dine at 3030 Ocean. The five-course Rosé Champagne Dinner, priced at $140 per person, begins at 8 p.m. and will feature oysters two ways, burrata ravioli, roasted red snapper, brioche-crusted beef tenderloin, and vanilla pot de crème. Each dish will be paired with a different Champagne, including Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rosé and Moet & Chandon Imperial Nectar Rosé. To RSVP, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 954.765.3030.
10. Cupid-Approved Cocktails
Are cocktails more your sweetheart’s thing? Head to Steak 954 on Fort Lauderdale Beach, where the oceanfront steakhouse will be serving a special Tuesday I'm in Love cocktail ($14) made with vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, crème de violette, a heart-shaped pomegranate ice cube, and prosecco.
11. For Singles
Single ladies, make this your night, too. Follow up Galentine's Day (the day before V-Day) with drink specials on Las Olas. While American Social will give women who check in on social media a free rose stem and, better yet, a glass of rosé, SuViche will be hosting Single & Saucy festivities featuring free sake and Champagne with the purchase of an entree, extended happy hour deals, and buy one, get one half-off sushi rolls. Expect a DJ to be spinning throughout the night.
