A $200 Million Yacht Docks at Fort Lauderdale Marina
The mega-yacht, Kismet, is the largest yacht ever to dock at Fort Lauderdale's iconic Bahia Mar marina.
According to the marina operator, RCI Marine, since arriving at the marina last week, Kismet is expected to stay at least a few more weeks while it undergoes routine maintenance after returning from a three-week long charter in the Caribbean.
With an estimated worth of at least $200 million, the 312-footer comes complete with a swimming pool, fully equipped barbecue area, movie theater and eight staterooms that can sleep up to 16 guests. The ship can also carry up to 28 crewmembers.
Other amenities on the yacht include a sauna, elevator, underwater lights, helicopter landing pad, Wi-Fi connection and a gym complete with exercise equipment.
Kismet is associated with Pakistani-American billionaire, Shahid Khan, owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars and English soccer team, Fulham F.C.
Khan, who was born in Pakistan to a middle-class family, came to the United States when he was 16 to attend college and study engineering. Khan later designed a revolutionary one-piece truck bumper and started the auto parts manufacturing company, Flex-N-Gate, which now has roughly $4 billion in annual sales.
Forbes magazine estimates Khan's net worth at more than $4 billion and listed him at No. 110 in the 2014 rankings of richest Americans.
Kismet is available for winter charter from Fort Lauderdale's Moran Yacht & Ship at a weekly base rate of $1.2 million. Other expenses such as food, fuel and dockage are not included and can run 20 percent to 35 percent more.
