5 Broward County High Schools Rank Among Top 25 Private Schools In Florida

Trying to decide where to send off your teen to high school? In Broward County, we have plenty of great options.

Five of the county's private high schools were ranked among the 25 best in Florida, according to a 2016 list released by Niche K-12.

The educational ranking and review site considered factors including SAT/ACT scores, the quality of colleges that students consider, student-teacher ratio, and student and parent reviews.

Pine Crest School, an all-faith college prep school with a campus in Fort Lauderdale, ranked the highest of the local schools, earning the No. 2 spot on the list. Ransom Everglades School in Miami-Dade's Coconut Grove came in first.

The high-ranking Pine Crest School boasts a 13:1 student-teacher ratio, 99 percent four-year matriculation rate, an A+ grade for students' interest in top colleges, and A- for culture and diversity, according to the site.

Also on the top 25 list were: David Posnack Jewish Day School in Davie (8), American Heritage School - Plantation Campus (11), University School of Nova Southeastern University in Davie (21), and North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek (23).

Of note, several public high schools in Broward were also recognized by Niche K-12 in late November.
