The Breitling Jet Team To Fly Over Fort Lauderdale Beach To Survey Area Ahead Of Air Show
Don’t miss your chance to catch a peek at one of three jet demonstration teams set to perform at the Fort Lauderdale Air Show.
The Breitling Jet Team will be flying over Fort Lauderdale Beach around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 11, to survey the airspace ahead of the big event next month.
The seven-person team, which is based in Dijon, France, flies L-39 Albatros jets, reaching speeds of up to 565 mph.
The Fort Lauderdale Air Show, taking place May 7 and May 8, will also welcome the Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds and the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. (As some locals may recall, Major Scott Petz with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flew over Fort Lauderdale Beach in February.)
In addition to the three headliners, the beachside event will showcase GEICO Skytypers, an F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, and a U.S. Marine Corps' AV-8B Harrier. The latter aircraft is capable of performing vertical takeoffs and landings.
