The remaining metro area list consisted of Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford, Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Jacksonville, Cape Coral-Fort Myers, North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton and Lakeland-Winter Haven.

In addition, according to floridarealtors.org “eight counties within these Florida metro areas were among 50 counties nationwide that gained the most population between 2013 and 2014.”

Within the past year, Broward County had a population gain of about 24,000, Palm Beach County had a gain of about 22,000 and Miami-Dade County had an increase of about 21,000.

Other counties that also had an impressive population increase include, Orange and Osceola Counties in Central Florida, Hillsborough County in West Central Florida and Lee and Polk Counties in Southwest Florida.

Collectively, all eight of these counties accounted for more than half of Florida’s total population gains within the past year.
