Dine Out Lauderdale Returns, Cooking Up Great Food At A Great Price
Time to make that foodie checklist: Menus for participating Dine Out Lauderdale restaurants are rolling out.
More than 35 restaurants throughout Broward County will be participating in this year’s Dine Out Lauderdale, a six-week restaurant promotion during which high-rated eateries like 15th Street Fisheries and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse typically offer patrons the chance to choose an appetizer, entree and dessert from a $35 prix fixe menu. The event will run from Sept. 1 through Oct. 12.
This week, participating restaurants began announcing what will be on their menus. Whether you’re in the mood for fresh seafood, a classic New York strip, or chicken and waffles, chances are one of the Fort Lauderdale-area eateries has you covered.
Diners will be able to choose from Mexican, Cuban, French, Italian and Asian cuisines, among others.
“Each year, [the event] grows with popularity, both with the people and the restaurants that participate,” said Kim Butler, a spokeswoman for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau.
New restaurants this year include American Vintage at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, Shooters Waterfront and Chanson Restaurant.
The event is being held slightly earlier than in past years as a way to invite people to come to Broward during September, a slower month for the industry, Butler said.
So, what do you have to do to participate? In most cases, guests need only to show up the participating restaurants on days that the deal is offered and request it. Restaurants are also taking reservations through OpenTable.com.
