Florida Among The Best States In the Nation for Military Retirees, According to WalletHub
Florida was named among the top states in the country for military retirees, according to an analysis conducted by finance social network WalletHub.
The Sunshine State took the No. 5 spot, preceded by Maine, South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming, which was ranked No. 1. The worst states for military retirees were Rhode Island and Indiana.
To come up with the results, “WalletHub analyzed the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 20 key metrics — ranging job opportunities for veterans to number of VA health facilities — that speak collectively to the economic environment, health care services and overall quality of life in each area,” a press release explains.
Florida also snagged the No. 5 spot when it came to the states with most VA health facilities per 10,000 veterans.
