Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa Launches Pride & Joy Package to Celebrate LGBT Pride Month
June 1 marks the beginning of National LGBT Pride Month, established by the Obama administration in May of 2016.
Pride Month gives LGBT people and their allies an opportunity to show support for LGBT rights and to mark the continuing progress in creating a more inclusive and equal society.
To celebrate love and pride locally, the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa is offering a Pride & Joy package, inviting LGBT couples to explore South Florida’s shores together throughout the month of June.
“We've offered travel packages that celebrate the LGBT community for quite some time,” says Susan Aichele-Sanders, director of sales and marketing. “But now more than ever, we felt it was important to show that we can be a special place and a source of pride for all those celebrating who they are, and who they love.”
Aichele-Sanders says the boutique-style resort has added some special perks to celebrate Pride Month. The Pride & Joy package includes overnight accommodations for two, Champagne and tropical fruit welcome treat, a daily buffet breakfast for two at McCoy’s Oceanfront and a 20 percent discount on services at SiSpa.
Throughout the month of June, couples who book the Pride & Joy package, which starts at $209 per night, will receive two complimentary welcome cocktails and a 1 p.m. late checkout.
Aichele-Sanders says the Pride & Joy package offers guests a getaway that focuses on personal wellness and rejuvenation.
Her picks for a stay full of relaxation and romance? Any of the world-class treatments at SiSpa, or yoga classes at the Ocean Terrace. “It's a wonderful place to take some time for yourself and enjoy the simple pleasures of a true Florida beach experience,” she says.
