Fort Lauderdale Named Best City For Brunch In America By Travel & Leisure Readers
Most weekends in Fort Lauderdale, bottomless mimosas are as prevalent as bikinis on the beach, so we're not surprised to find our beachside town has been named the best city for brunch in the nation.
That's right—Travel + Leisure released its annual America's Favorite Places survey in early March, and Fort Lauderdale came in at No. 1 on its America's Favorite Cities for Brunch list.
The annual survey polls Travel + Leisure readers across hundreds of cities and towns in America, in categories ranging from friendliness of locals to quality of pizza. And, as it turned out, Southern cities know how to do brunch best.
Whereas items like fried chicken and biscuits or shrimp and grits might be the more popular brunch dishes across other U.S. cities that made the top 15 list—such as New Orleans; Charleston, South Carolina; and Raleigh, North Carolina—unique Fort Lauderdale offerings, like the seafood towers at Pelican Grand Beach Resort and the pizza and bellinis at local Italian favorite Louie Bossi's, all got a shout out.
Now, we'd have to agree Fort Lauderdale's brunch scene is pretty impressive, and we would love for you to tell us your favorite brunch spot in Fort Lauderdale by voting in our #BestofFTL poll.
