Fort Lauderdale Named A Top 25 U.S. Destination For 2016 By TripAdvisor Travelers
And it looks like TripAdvisor users agree.
The travel planning and booking site has announced the winners of its 2016 Travelers' Choice Awards for the best destinations in the United States, and Fort Lauderdale, not surprisingly, made the cut.
While New York City topped the national list, followed by Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale earned the No. 23 spot. This comes after travel search engine site Orbitz identified Fort Lauderdale as a top travel destination last holiday season.
The TripAdvisor list was determined based on travelers' reviews and ratings for the cities' hotels, restaurants and attractions over a 12-month period, as well as booking interest on TripAdvisor.
In addition, TripAdvisor identified can't-miss attractions in Fort Lauderdale, according to its users. The list includs Bonnet House Museum and Gardens, Hugh Taylor Birch State Park and, of course, the beach—which also recently made TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice list for the top beaches in the United States.
Three other Florida cities were ranked as top U.S. destinations: Orlando (3), jumping 15 spots from last year, Miami Beach (11), and St. Augustine (25).
