Fort Lauderdale Taco Battle & Craft Beer Fest Returns With Impressive Local Lineup

The second annual Taco Battle & Craft Beer Fest, sponsored by Tabañero Hot Sauce, will return to downtown Fort Lauderdale on April 14 with craft beverages and gourmet tacos.

Local restaurants and food trucks will showcase their best creations at the festival as they compete for the “Best of the Best” award. Last year’s defending champions, Agave Taco Bar (Best of the Best), I Love Tacos (Fan Favorite) and The Whole Enchilada (Best Tabañero-Inspired Creation) will return to defend their titles.

Other restaurants included in this year’s lineup are Viva Tokyo; La Lona Cocina & Tequileria; Las Mexicanas; Hickory Sticks; BC Tacos; and more.

The craft breweries in attendance will be fighting for the titles of Best of the Best Local Craft Beer, Most Interesting/Creative Craft Beer and Fan Favorite. Guests can expect to sip on brews by Coppertail Brewing; Veza Sur; Bousa Brewing; Gulfstream Brewing; Concrete Beach; Accomplice Brewery & Ciderworks; and more.

A panel of independent judges will judge the Best of the Best and Creative Categories for both tacos and beers, while event attendees will vote for the fan favorites.

The free event is family and pet friendly and will be held at Esplanade Park. It will not only feature local food and drinks, but taco-eating competitions, live music and kids activities. Children will be able to enjoy balloons, piñatas and face painting. The Pets Zone will feature adoptable pets through Pets’ Broward.

Although the event is free for general admission, paid admission ($74) to the festival includes a craft beer garden where ticket holders will have access to unlimited food, beer and drink tastings, special gifts, lawn games, adult piñatas and more.
