Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi Is Offering Express Routes During Tortuga Music Festival
Tortuga Music Festival starts next week, but aside from looking forward to three full days of sand, sun and country music, we must prep for parking and transportation madness.
For those headed to Tortuga April 15 to 17, Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi will be offering dedicated express routes to help festivalgoers get to and from Fort Lauderdale Beach.
“With thousands of locals and visitors alike flocking to Fort Lauderdale Beach for the Tortuga Music Festival’s non-stop performances, navigating the crowded streets in a car becomes an almost impossible task,” Water Taxi co-owner Mike McGurl said in a release.
Direct service to Tortuga will depart from two locations: the Gallery One Double Tree Hotel and Briny Irish Pub on the river. The boats will take passengers to the Las Olas Marina a few blocks from the beach, where they can re-board to return home after the festival.
Parking is free at the Galleria Mall next to the Gallery One Hotel, and paid parking is available at the One River Plaza parking garage nearby Briny Irish Pub.
The routes, which can be seen in the map below, will begin operating at 10 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Return service from Las Olas Marina will run 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
One-day passes are $25 when purchased online in advance, and a full three-day pass is $45.
