Funky Buddha Brewery's Craft Food Counter & Kitchen Is Opening Nov. 11
Funky Buddha Brewery's fast casual eatery is ready to start serving up dishes to customers.
Craft Food Counter & Kitchen, which will offer bar grub prepared with Funky Buddha beers in mind, opens Nov. 11 at the Oakland Park brewery.
At the same time, Funky Buddha is opening its events suite, which will be a full-service catering and events facility for private groups. The new banquet hall has a rustic look, with its red-brick walls, reclaimed wood rafters and barrel staves that Funky Buddha has used to create its beers. The space can also host beer education events, dinners and more.
"The opening of Craft Food Counter is a dramatic next step in the evolution of the brewery," co-owner KC Sentz said. "With the quality of food coming out of our kitchen and the unbelievable events area we’ve built, we’re moving to create a world-class brewery experience right here in South Florida."
Chef Jeff Vincent, formerly of Beauty and the Feast at the Atlantic Hotel, will helm Craft Food Counter & Kitchen. Meanwhile, Philip Colp, who oversaw the catering program at Davie's Signature Grand, will operate the events facility as Funky Buddha's director of catering.
Craft Food Counter's menu items are all listed with suggested beer pairings, and many are actually made with Funky Buddha brews, like the beer-braised craft bratwurst; Fuhgeddaboutdit beer cheese, which pairs the brewery's red ale with aged cheddar and smoky gouda; and the griddled cheese on beer-buttered challah. The food counter will also feature daily specials based on local and seasonal ingredients.
In keeping with Funky Buddha's communal atmosphere, the food counter features an open kitchen plan. The kitchen itself was built into a real shipping container and features a 20-foot polished concrete countertop. The room also offers its usual collection of drinking games, such as giant Jenga and cornhole, as well as coin-operated arcade machines.
Funky Buddha's Craft Food Counter & Kitchen will be open from noon to midnight daily.
