Get Hired To Work In Paradise At Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort's 3-Day Job Fair
June 17, 2015 — Ever wanted to work in paradise? A hiring event next week for the new Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort aims to find people who can deliver fun and escapism like it's their job (because it will be).
The resort will be accepting applications and conducting interviews for a range of positions: servers, hostesses, concierge, spa staff, cooks, security officers and more. The three-day hiring event will run from June 23-25 at the Hillcrest Golf and Country Club from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day.
Taking a cue from “It’s 5 O’ Clock Somewhere” singer and owner Jimmy Buffett, the resort wants its guests "to escape the everyday and just chill." Once it opens, the 17-story resort will provide visitors an array of amenities to compliment their high-level hospitality, service and attention to detail.
For that reason, the website says they're looking to hire people who exemplify "I Love My Job" values—even though a recent social media study showed that Floridians tweet about hating their jobs more than people in any other state.
The resort's opening comes amid a recent disagreement between Hollywood and Margaritaville, in which an ad referred to Hollywood Beach as being “in Greater Fort Lauderdale.” Hollywood residents weren't happy being lumped in together with the big neighboring city that's a few miles north. The ad has since been changed to “South Florida.”
Margaritaville developer Lon Tabatchnick told the Sun-Sentinel that the wording was chosen to distinguish Hollywood, Florida, from Hollywood, California, for potential guests who are unfamiliar with the South Florida city.
The resort is scheduled to open later this summer. For more information on the hiring event and a full list of positions available, visit the website.
