A Giant Peep-Lined Easter Egg Is On Display At Diplomat Resort & Spa In Hollywood
The Diplomat Resort & Spa is putting on a Peep show. But don’t worry; it’s completely family-friendly.
Nearly 8,000 Peeps—those sugary marshmallow treats that seem to be everywhere come springtime—are now on display at the Hollywood hotel in the form of a giant Easter egg.
Executive pastry chef Henry Martignago and his team, which also put together a massive macaron tree for the holidays, crafted the 12-foot creation. The piece is lined with about 50 rows of yellow, blue, pink and purple of the chick-shaped candies and supported by a chocolate base.
After ooh-ing and ah-ing over the jumbo confection, be sure to check out some more Peep art by Miami International University of Art & Design students. The clever works, on display in the hotel lobby, include Peeps shaped to form the Florida flag, Batman, Pebbles and more.
Judges will be on-site on Saturday, March 26, to declare a winner. Visitors will also be able to vote for their favorite piece, which will earn the “Peeple’s Choice” award.
The colorful display will be up through April 2.
