The Little Chalet Restaurant Brings Swiss Charm And Fondue Goodness To Boca Raton
Swiss charm has arrived in Boca.
The Little Chalet, a steak and fondue house that soft-opened in October, is a new fine dining restaurant in Boca Raton, serving up European-inspired dishes alongside steak and gourmet fondues in a warm atmosphere.
Though the concept is Swiss, the restaurant is actually a Brazilian chain first introduced to the South American country more than 35 years ago.
The 161-seat eatery has indoor and outdoor bars, as well as a glass-enclosed terrace. Its whimsical decor aims to provide a cozy dining experience. There are dimly lit red walls, cobblestone floors, a fireplace and details such as bird cages, flower pots and mini snow cottages.
Specialties on the menu include honey-glazed salmon served over roasted fennel, aged Wisconsin cheddar and beer soup accompanied by a homemade pretzel, and USDA Prime cuts of steak, including filet mignon, New York strip, bone-in rib eye and porterhouse.
And, of course, there are the fondues—both cheese and wine. Eaten as appetizers or full-sized meals, they're accompanied by dipping options, such as filet mignon, chicken, pork, potatoes or vegetables. The range of cheese fondues includes parmesan, blue cheese and Swiss, while the red wine fondue is made with beef broth for a bourguignon-style sauce.
As part of its grand opening month celebration, The Little Chalet is donating all of the proceeds from dessert fondues purchased through Nov. 15 to nonprofit Spirit of Giving's annual gift drive. Funds raised will help buy gifts off the wish lists of children in need.
For the holidays, The Little Chalet will have a Christmas tree display inside the restaurant that offers customers another way to support the charity. Those who'd like to fulfill a child's holiday wish can pick an ornament from the tree, which has a gift request inside.
