Major Redevelopment Planned for Bahia Cabana Beach Resort
The owner of Fort Lauderdale’s Bahia Cabana Beach Resort has planned a proposal that would completely redevelop the resort to include a new hotel, condos, entertainment options and a marina.
The Bahia Cabana Beach Resort is a 70-room hotel and marina that’s been a popular spot along Fort Lauderdale’s beach since opening in 1972.
Last week, details of the redevelopment plan and a proposed land swap with the city were announced by Randolph Equity Partners Inc., a real estate development and capital firm based in Fort Lauderdale.
According to the Sun-Sentinel, Randolph Equity is proposing a 196-room hotel and a luxury 112-condominium complex with two nearby parcels; shops, restaurants and art galleries; a marina with transient docking and overwater dining options; pedestrian pathways and plazas along A1A and the Intracoastal Waterway.
While still in the preliminary stages, the project is estimated to generate more than $100 million in economic impact as well as create hundreds of permanent jobs within the area.
