New Year's Eve 2017 Dinners And Parties In Broward County
Say so long to 2016, and welcome in New Year's 2017 at one of these Fort Lauderdale spots.
Whether you prefer an elaborate multi-course meal and champagne toast, or a night of dancing and balloon drops, celebratory options abound.
Here's what is going on around town.
Dinners and Brunches
End the year at 3030 Ocean with a New Year's Eve tasting menu ($100 pp, $150 with wine pairings) of delicacies that are sure to delight. Start with an amuse bouche of oyster and pearls with caviar, and continue with choices including beef tartare, wagyu strip steak, butter-roasted Maine lobster, linguini with white truffles, and more. Dinner starts at 6 p.m.
How about ringing in the new year with a Mexican-style brunch? Agave Taco Bar will serve up huevos rancheros, breakfast tacos, breakfast burritos, chilaquiles and more alongside $12 unlimited mimosas and micheladas (spicy Mexican beer bloody marys). The Fort Lauderdale location offers brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, while the Davie East and West restaurants will offer brunch on New Year's Day only.
Head to any local Brio location (Gulfstream Park, Shops at Pembroke Gardens, Westfield Broward Mall) for a two-course New Year's menu ($29.95+) of broiled Maine lobster with Creole shrimp pasta or surf-and-turf beef medallions with black pepper shrimp, plus soup, salad or dessert. The prix fixe menu will be offered Dec. 30 to Jan. 2.
A five-course feast awaits at Burlock Coast, where New Year's Eve happenings include live entertainment, party favors, and a champagne toast at midnight. Served beginning at 7 p.m., the tasting menu ($150) offers choices including asparagus gazpacho, oysters three ways, Lake Meadow duck with pumpkin gnocchi, pork belly, filet mignon, and decadent desserts like sea salt chocolate honeycomb with malted milk marshmallow and strawberry peach gel. After 10 p.m., guests can continue the night at the Astor Lounge for the after-party.
Join in on the Epic New Year's Eve celebration with B Square Burgers' indulgent specials, including Branzino on Fire stuffed with crab and shrimp and Slow-Roasted Prime Rib with onion au jus and a stuffed parmigiano baked potato. Guests can also try the new Epic Burger, stuffed with caramelized apples and onions, topped with smoked gouda, confit pork belly in a savory chocolate miso glaze, and a shoestring crunch. From 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., the bar will host an Epic Open Bar Party ($75) with a live DJ and champagne toast. Guests who dine at the restaurant receive 20 percent off admission. B Square will also host its Hangover Bottomless Brunch on New Year's Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring brunch classics and $15 bottomless mimosas, sangrias, and bloody marys (or $30 for bottomless Moët mimosas).
Attend the Cirque de Ciao, where diners can enjoy Italian favorites alongside circus entertainment. Guests can dine inside for $69 or outside for $59, and the menu will feature items including shrimp cocktail, prosciutto and fontina crostini, veggie lasagna, prime rib, cannoli cheesecake and more.
Chef Mike Ponluang wants to give locals the option of ditching the pricey prix fixe menus and enjoying a Thai-inspired New Year's instead. Starting at 3 p.m., guests can enjoy his New Year's Eve specials such as wild mushroom soup in a sourdough bowl, Maine lobster drizzled in Thai chili garlic sauce, and sweet crispy black rice coconut ice cream, on top of the usual Thai classics. Live music will help guests ring in the new year, and a champagne toast will top it all off at midnight.
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel's signature steakhouse will offer a four-course prix fixe menu for $180 per person, along with live entertainment through 1 a.m., the Times Square countdown shown on TVs in the lounge, and a champagne toast at midnight. Try the Nueva Noche sparkling cocktail, a special for the night that's made of Mont Marçal Cava Brut Reserva, Petrini Lemon Sorbetto and grapes.
Grille 401 will offer a few New Year's Eve specials for dinner: veal osso bucco with wild mushroom jus and truffle risotto ($39), jumbo Florida stone crabs served with housemade mustard and sweet potato fries ($75), and sauteed dover sole with lemon caper butter sauce and eggplant parmigiana (MP). The restaurant will be open its regular hours from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
From 5 p.m. onward, guests of The Riverside Hotel's Indigo Restaurant can enjoy a $55 prix fixe menu of mushroom bisque or champagne wishes salad; lobster and rock shrimp Thermidor, beef wellington, or salmon en papillote; and white chocolate pistachio pound cake or gingerbread cheesecake.
Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort's fine dining restaurant will host a prix fixe menu seating, offering locals the chance to enjoy a five-course tasting menu for $175 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. (the a la carte menu will be available before then, starting at 6 p.m.). Prix fixe offerings will include pan-seared scallops atop English pea puree; seafood stew of clams, mussels and shrimp; and wine-poached pear with moscato zabaglione. JWB, Margaritaville Restaurant, 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill and LandShark Bar & Grill will all host live entertainment and a champagne toast and give out party favors.
Celebrate New Year's Eve with a Japanese omakase-style tasting menu ($150 per person), featuring the chef's choice of sushi, salmon with caviar, toro tuna with smoked tofu and wasabi, wagyu with white truffle, and more. Guests can pair dinner with a specialty New Year's cocktail, the Ju Nana ($14) with champagne, cognac, cranberry and ginger. DJ Romina Gentilini will provide the tunes until 1 a.m., and a champagne toast will be held at midnight.
Nisi will serve New Year's Eve diners a five-course Mediterranean menu starting at 8:30 p.m. (the a la carte menu will be available for early dinner from 5 p.m to 7 p.m.), and dinner guests can enjoy the DJ and other entertainment, a live ball-drop countdown, and a champagne toast at midnight.
At Oceans 234 in Deerfield, enjoy dining by the water till 2 a.m. on New Year's Eve, or opt for New Year's Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The restaurant will be offering holiday specials such as Chilean Sea Bass, jumbo stone crabs, and Cowboy Rib Eye in addition to its regular menu.
Say cheers to 2017 over Italian dinner at Piccolo Ristorante. Chef Andres Avayu will be prepping New Year's Eve specials, including hot Italian sausage with Tuscan white beans, brocolini rapini and crostini; wedge salad with crispy bacon lardons and Roquefort dressing; steak al pobre (topped with a fried egg); winter vegetable ratatouille with duchess potatoes; and champagne cupcakes with buttercream frosting.
Dine on an a la carte menu or chef specials at Shooters Waterfront on New Year's Eve before getting the party started. Afterward, head to the Grateful Palate venue next door for a night of dancing, featuring a DJ, complimentary champagne toast, and festive balloon drop at midnight. Party favors are included! The celebration continues with New Year's Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, bottomless mimosas, bloody marys, and more.
Sit down to a multi-course meal at Beauty & The Feast during one of two seatings: the early three-course pig roast dinner with a selection of small plates (6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; $59 per person) or the midnight seating for a four-course feast, including DJ entertainment, party favors, and a champagne toast (9 p.m. to midnight; $119 per person). The hotel will also offer a New Year's Eve Gala Under the Stars (8:30 p.m.; $129 per person) on the fifth floor oceanfront terrace. The semi-formal dinner will include a four-course prix fixe meal, live entertainment, party favors and a midnight celebration.
On New Year's Day, take the Polar Bear Plunge by meeting at Lifeguard Tower 11 on Fort Lauderdale Beach at 11 a.m. and diving into the ocean in last night's gown, tuxedo or bathing suit. Then follow it up with brunch ($49.99, or a $20.17 discount for guests who take the plunge) at Beauty & the Feast, available until 2:30 p.m. Options include lobster omelet with boursin cheese, eggs benedict, and bananas foster. Wild Sea will be offering a New Year's prix fixe menu at $75 per person, featuring such highlights as cast-iron escargot en croute, oyster bisque, pan-seared steak with Brussels sprout gratin, and smoked hazelnut-crusted halibut.
The party starts early in downtown Fort Lauderdale, where the city is hosting its annual Downtown Countdown, featuring a live entertainment stage, DJ, kids zone, and a larger-than-life anchor illumination, which will descend 100 feet as we count down the final seconds of 2016. From 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., kids can enjoy family-friendly activities and an early 7 p.m. kids countdown for the little ones that need to get to bed. Live musical entertainment will take place from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., with the countdown to 2017 at midnight. Activities will be centralized at SW 2nd Street and SW 5th Avenue.
Countdown to midnight from Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort's Lone Palm Pool. From 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., the family-friendly party will feature live music, a DJ, and cash bars ($25 per person for admission). Cabanas for up to six people can also be reserved for $500 and include open bar, butler service, party favors, a cheese board, and champagne toast at midnight.
Ring in the new year at Tap 42 with beats by DJ Tandim and a full night of eating and drinking. From 9 p.m. to midnight, enjoy an open top-shelf bar and a pop-up beer beer garden featuring craft beers, specialty cocktails, and gourmet food stations. No money, no problem. At American Social's "No-Cover New Year's Eve Bash," the pressure's off and all that's on is a good time of music, cocktails and beer with friends. A live DJ will perform, and there will be bottle specials and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.
Throw on your flapper dress and pearls or top hats and dancing shoes for a speakeasy-style celebration to ring in 2017. From 8 p.m. to midnight, guests at Brimstone Woodfire Grill will have the chance to win gift cards, bottles of wine and more and can enjoy unlimited champagne and draft beer for only $15. Plus, there will be an extra champagne toast at midnight!
For an alternative New Year's bash, head to Stache, which will be hosting a Brazilian Carnival-themed extravaganza with a premium open bar and assortment of gourmet bites from 9 p.m. to midnight, plus a complimentary champagne toast to ring in 2017. DJs will be spinning mashups, funk, soul and late-night house music while exotic Brazilian dancers stroll the floor. Tickets are $75 per person.
Celebrate not once, but four times, with a New Year's countdown for each of America's time zones, starting with the Times Square Ball Drop at midnight and ending with Katy Perry's "California Gurls" celebration on the West Coast at 3 a.m. There will be an open bar until midnight and balloon drop with themed party favors for each time zone. Doors open at 9 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door.
Celebrate New Year's Eve at downtown Fort Lauderdale's newest bar and lounge during its grand opening weekend. Cash Only on West Las Olas will be hosting a NYE party (that's New Year's Evil) for everyone who wants to be bad one last time this year. General admission tickets are $19.99, or $49.99 for premium open bar access from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Head to Lips Fort Lauderdale for a high-energy celebration featuring dazzling drag entertainment, with two seatings at 7 p.m. ($45) and 9:30 p.m. ($85). The hotel's celebration ($199) starts at 8 p.m., offering a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres and four-course dinner with open bar, DJ entertainment and dancing, plus a champagne toast at midnight.
Ring in the new year on roller skates at Xtreme Action Park's brand new Arena Roller Skating Rink. From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., the venue will host roller skaters as they enjoy retro tunes, food and drinks, and a live feed projection of the Times Square ball drop for the countdown to midnight. Guests 21 and older can also partake in a free champagne toast. Price of admission is $20.17 in advance (get it?) or $25 day of.
