The newest celebrity hideaway hotel is in Deerfield Beach

The Royal Blues Hotel & Chanson Restaurant in Deerfield Beach has quickly become a celebrity hideaway. Since its soft opening in December, the boutique luxury art hotel has entertained the likes of TV and movie stars Woody Allen, Susan Lucci and Andy Garcia.

Many of these popular faces are friends with hotel owner Edward Walson, who has produced some of Allen’s movies including “Blue Jasmine” and “Magic in the Moonlight.” Walson expects to see more notable names at his 12-room, oceanfront property located at 45 N.E. 21st Ave.

“Deerfield Beach is really a hidden gem that a lot of people don't know about,” Walson told the South Florida Business Journal, considering the city's 1960s California vibe and restrictions against high-rises.

Walson is a lover of the color blue, from blue skies to the ocean to even blues music, which is why he named the hotel Royal Blues. Every room has original pieces of artwork with contemporary furnishings and a balcony with ocean views. Another fine touch is in the international seafood-themed Chanson restaurant, which has a 1,500-gallon saltwater aquarium mounted in its ceiling.

Adding more rooms and another restaurant is a possibly for the hotel’s future. It is the only Relais & Châteaux property in Florida with rates that range from $415 to $1,150 a night.
