Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar and Skrillex will be headlining the inaugural Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival taking place in Okeechobee's Sunshine Grove in March.
The weekend-long, camping-style festival, named for its location amidst the woodlands north of Florida's largest freshwater lake, will take place March 6 through March 8. Okeechobee Fest, which has been compared to Coachella and Bonnaroo, will focus on not only music but also arts, spirituality and sustainability.
Soundslinger, LLC, the team of concert promoters and producers organizing the festival, have promised more than 80 musical acts. More than half of those were announced Thursday morning.
The lineup includes hip-hop artists Fetty Wap and Future, R&B singer Miguel, singer Grace Potter, and locally bred nice-piece Latin fusion band Spam Allstars.
A limited amount of Tier 1-level passes are available at okeechobeemusicfest.com as of 10 a.m. Thursday. At this time, discounted tickets are $249.50 plus shipping and fees for a three-day Tier 1 general admission camping pass (and go up to $269.50 during Tier 2 sale) or $599 for the Eternal Sunshine VIP experience.
