One Door East, Valentino Owners' Casual Tapas Restaurant, To Open This Fall
A new restaurant is to looking to give diners an international meal at one Fort Lauderdale location.
Giovanni Rocchio, the owner and chef at Valentino Cucina Italiana, and his partner, Elke Quintana, recently announced the opening of their new restaurant, One Door East. The eatery is slated to open this fall.
The restaurant—which gets its name from being literally one door east of Valentino—will focus on tapas plates.
The menu is influenced by Italian, Spanish, and Moroccan cuisines, but the restaurant won’t stop there, Rocchio said.
“If one day we have the idea to do an Indian-inspired dish, that’s exactly what we’ll do,” Rocchio said. “We’re going to keep adding new flavors.”
The menu will also include whole fish, grilled veggies, a burger and paella, a Valencian rice dish. There will be many floating menu items as inspiration keeps coming, Rocchio said.
Dinner will cost between $50 to $60 per person. The restaurant will also offer cocktails and other drinks at a rustic wood and metal 20-seat bar.
“One Door East will be more of a neighborhood type of place,” Rocchio said. “It will be more casual than Valentino with an industrial feel.”
