OpenTable's List Of Best Al Fresco Dining Restaurants Shows South Florida Is Totally On Its Game
When it comes to outdoor dining, it’s hard to compete with South Florida. Beautiful beaches and magnificent marinas provide the perfect backdrop to mimosa-filled brunches or romantic date nights—and diners take notice.
This week, OpenTable released its list of the 100 best al fresco dining restaurants in America, and a total of six Broward and Palm Beach establishments made the cut. To come up with the list, the company analyzed more than 5 million reviews from verified OpenTable users between May 1, 2014, and April 30, 2015.
The local places were:
- GG's Waterfront Bar & Grill - Hollywood, Florida
- JB's On The Beach - Deerfield Beach, Florida
- Kaluz Restaurant - Fort Lauderdale, Florida
- Oceans 234 - Deerfield Beach, Florida
- Shooters Waterfront - Fort Lauderdale, Florida
- Sundy House - Delray Beach, Florida
Of course, Miami also had some restaurants on the list: Red Fish Grill, Restaurant Michael Schwartz, and Lido Restaurant & Bayside Grill at The Standard Hotel.
If you break it down by state, Florida came in second only to California for the most restaurants in the top 100 collection. (California may have had 45 mentions to our 18, but it's more than twice our size!) Hawaii came in third place with 17 restaurants on the list.
Now comes the hard part: deciding which places to check out first. As OpenTable puts it: “[T]he honorees on this year's list are dining destinations where the setting is as Instagrammable as the food.”
