Papalani Gelato Serving Up Hawaiian-Style Treats in Delray Beach
Hawaii-based Papalani Gelato is now serving up tropical-flavored treats in Delray Beach.
The store, which opened last week after construction delays, is offering Hawaiian-style gelato, coffee and chocolate, as well as a light breakfast menu that includes gelato waffles.
The 1,300-square-foot space, located at 16950 Jog Road, is the store’s third franchise location in Florida. President Marck Shipley told Pacific Business News that franchise owner Mark Rubenstein, a Boca Raton resident, wants to open other locations in the area. The other shops are located in Temple Terrace and Brandon.
Papalani Gelato isn’t wasting any time getting involved with the community: The store recently worked with neighboring Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens to help raise money for the organization’s More Opportunities to Reach Youth program, which organizes tours for student groups and teaches them about Japanese culture.
The original Papalani Gelato opened on the island of Kauai in 2008. Owners Marck and Lauren Shipley first fell in love with gelato after a trip to Italy. Looks like they were able to turn a passion into a business.
