At The Pier, Hudson Delray's New Outdoor Bar, You Can Catch The Sunset With A Waterfront View

There’s a new spot in Delray Beach to catch the sunset while sipping on a cocktail along the Intracoastal.

The Pier, Hudson Delray’s new outdoor waterfront bar, is celebrating its opening with a nautical launch party on Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Expect mermaid and pirate performers, $4 martinis and some complimentary cocktails. The first 100 guests to arrive will receive exclusive Hudson offers in the form of a message in a bottle.

The Pier offers 12 beers on tap and an extensive wine list as part of Hudson’s beverage program focused on small producers. Its 1,500-square-foot patio space provides exclusive waterfront sunset views, as one of the only west-facing bars on the Intracoastal in Delray.

“With a new outside bar, we will now be able to serve our high demand and growing popularity at Hudson, while guests now get a new space where they can step outside to enjoy Intracoastal vistas, order some delicious bites and sip on special brews,” co-owner Rita Wilson said.

The bar’s U-shape guarantees everyone gets a waterfront view, but for those interested in sports instead of the scenery, seven TV sets surround the bar.

Local street artist Ruben Ubiera painted a mermaid mural for The Pier, but the maritime decor doesn’t end there. The coastal-themed bar combines vintage Americana style with a hip, nautical vibe—from teal fish scale tiles on the face of the bar to reclaimed wood covering the bar top.

This summer, Hudson is offering a daily social hour featuring half-off drinks from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and other summer specials from 5 p.m. to close, but The Pier will offer unique drink deals, too. Whenever the neighboring Atlantic Avenue drawbridge goes up, shots are half-off at the bar until the bridge is back down in place.
