Robert Irvine Is Coming To Kuro At Seminole Hard Rock Hotel For A James Beard Benefit In January
"Restaurant: Impossible" host Robert Irvine is headed to South Florida in January, and you can meet him before enjoying a five-course meal.
Before Irvine makes his way to Fort Lauderdale for South Beach Wine and Food Festival's Seaside Eats event in late February, the Food Network chef will head to Japanese craft kitchen Kuro in Hollywood to emcee a Friends of James Beard Benefit dinner on Jan. 30.
The dinner, hosted by Kuro executive chef Alex Becker and several James Beard Award-winning chefs, will begin at 7:30 p.m. During an invitation-only cocktail reception kicking off the night, 50 VIP guests can take part in a meet and greet with Irvine.
The James Beard Benefit dinner is one of four around the country coming up in 2016. Irvine said he's not only honored to support the James Beard Foundation but also looking forward to spending time with the fellow chefs.
"I really look forward to opportunities that allow me to join my friends and other tremendous culinary talent and witness the power of good food just by looking at the faces of satisfaction among our guests," he said.
Irvine added he's been impressed with the growth of South Florida's culinary scene over the years. The celebrity chef has spent quite a bit of time in South Florida for events such as food festivals and even made a local stop on his interactive culinary show tour "Robert Irvine Live."
"I love how area chefs are really embracing their regional flavors and local catch and produce," he said. "It’s quite refreshing—literally!"
James Beard Award winners Norman Van Aken, Allen Susser and Christopher Lee and Outstanding Pastry Chef nominee Dahlia Narvaez will each prepare one of the five courses alongside chef Becker.
At the end of the night, Irvine will moderate a Q&A with these talented chefs—and needless to say, it won't be dull.
"I think our guests can expect a tasteful evening, in every sense of the word, but I like to have fun and mix things up a bit, so I’m hoping everyone’s ready for a good time," Irvine said.
To help raise money for the James Beard Foundation, which celebrates America's culinary heritage through educational programs, guests will be able to bid on a Seminole Hard Rock Hotel package during the evening's silent auction.
Tickets are $250 and can be purchased on Ticketmaster here.
