Miles of beaches, blue skies and sunshine bring tourists from all over the world to Fort Lauderdale’s shores, and choosing where to stay is half the fun when it comes to vacationing in South Florida.
Fort Lauderdale boasts hundreds of luxury hotels across its shorelines, with new hotels and renovations opening every year. This year has been no exception. Here are the best new hotels in the area for your upcoming “staycation.”
1. Plunge Beach Hotel
Located in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Plunge Beach Hotel opened in early 2017 and prides itself on its laid-back, low-key vibe. Focusing less on the glitz and glams of traditional resort hotels, Plunge Beach Hotel lets guests experience a classic American beach town feel. Direct beach access, a swimming pool with ocean views and a restaurant that serves seafood fresh off the boat help the hotel reach its ambiance goals—it feels timeless.
Le Méridien Dania Beach at Fort Lauderdale Airport
Formerly Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port Hotel, Le Méridien will open in the fall, following a $30 million transformation. Located 2.5 miles away from the airport, the hotel is a perfect spot to mix business with pleasure. Close proximity to both downtown Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach gives guests plenty of options for entertainment.
2. Tryp by Wyndham Maritime Hotel

Offering a Spanish tapas bar, rooftop bar and lounge and 11 aquariums, TRYP is built with your relaxation in mind.
Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach
Expected to open in late fall, the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach is an oceanfront retreat with an elevated deck oasis, a spa and a fitness center, which featuresan ocean view and indoor and outdoor restaurants.
