The Shade Post and Rubem Robierb Brighten Up Downtown Fort Lauderdale
This weekend, Shade Post will host its ribbon cutting at the grand opening of its new location on the corner of First Avenue and First Street in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. To celebrate, the art and design warehouse will unveil “Metamorph-Us,” a street art project painted by internationally recognized artist Rubem Robierb.
Appropriately named “Metamorph-Us,” the project vividly capture’s the butterfly’s essence of transformation while exposing the strong yet opposing elements of the feminine and masculine psyche.
Shade Post’s creator, Kayce Armstrong, chose the facility's location with hopes that murals and other art demonstrations would impact the surrounding community in a positive and imaginative way. The organization and Robierb are optimistic that the mural will be an important artistic addition to the neighborhood, as well as create momentum for the transformation of downtown Fort Lauderdale into a culturally inclined transit area.
The murals will be unveiled during Shade Post’s grand opening on March 21 at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public and RSVP is required for entry. To RSVP, email firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information, visit rubemrobierb.com or shadepost.com.
