SOBE Wine and Food Festival Debuts Broward Event at S3 Restaurant
The Food Network and Cooking Channel’s South Beach Wine and Food Festival is making its way closer to Fort Lauderdale this year.
The 14th annual festival, which takes place from Feb. 19 to 22, will expand into Fort Lauderdale with its debut event called “A Dinner on Fort Lauderdale Beach.” Amanda Freitag, a New York chef and a judge on the Food Network’s "Chopped," will join executive Chef Peter Boulukos and Chef Chris Miracolo from Fort Lauderdale Beach's S3 Restaurant.
Together the team will develop a carefully crafted menu paired with wine for the S3 event on Feb. 20. Boulukos is a co-owner of parent company, The Restaurant People, which owns popular restaurants YOLO, Fork & Balls and Tarpon Bend.
With Fort Lauderdale dubbed as one of the best foodie cities, the Wine and Food Festival will allow the city to showcase how its kitchens have come a long way. SOBEWFF founder Lee Brian Schrager says they are already brainstorming ways to spotlight Fort Lauderdale’s dining scene even more for the 15th anniversary next year.
SOBEWFF features more than 75 food and wine events with more than 20 intimate dinner experiences and celebrity chef appearances by Emeril Lagasse, Guy Fieri, Rachael Ray and more.
