Starbucks Stores In Florida Now Let You Place Coffee Orders On Their Mobile App So You Can Skip The Wait
June 17, 2015 — It’s the constant morning struggle: You want to grab a cup of coffee, maybe a bagel or pastry, but you know there'll be a long line at Starbucks, and you don't have the time or patience to wait.
Well, as of Tuesday, the wait is over. The Starbucks app now offers a Mobile Order and Pay option in Florida and 20 other states. That means customers can place their orders through their phone and pick it up at whichever Starbucks can prepare the order fastest.
Here’s how it works: On the app, customers click “order” at the top right of their screen to pick their food and drink and also select a store. Wait times specific to each location will be available for customers to see, so they can pick the location that best suits their route and schedule.
The app also remembers previous orders. For those who've got their complicated usuals, this spells the end of repeating, "I'd like a venti iced caramel macchiato prepared skinny with an extra shot, please." Right now, the app is only available for iPhone, but it'll be available for Android later in 2015.
The program first launched in Portland, Oregon, in December 2014, but Starbucks plans to introduce the system nationally sometime this year.
There are tons of locations around Broward and Palm Beach counties that are now accepting mobile orders. For a full list of them, check out Starbucks' store locator and set it to show stores with Mobile Order & Pay.
