Starwood Dual-Hotel With City’s Highest Rooftop Bar Coming To Downtown Fort Lauderdale
A Starwood double hotel property is coming to downtown Fort Lauderdale, and it will have the city’s highest rooftop bar.
One tower will be a 209-room Tribute Portfolio hotel with an upscale boutique feel, while the other will be a 114-room, eco-friendly Element hotel. The rooftop bar will be on the building's highest floor, the 24th, and offer both indoor and outdoor seating.
The project is set to break ground in the fall and scheduled to open in spring 2017.
Though they’ll share a street-level entrance, each hotel will have its own lobby and distinctly branded guestrooms. They will also share a seventh-floor sky lobby with a bar, fitness center, and an ocean view pool deck on the 24th floor.
The property, located at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Third Street, will include 12,000 square feet of retail space on its ground floor in addition to the two hotels’ amenities. Philadelphia-based Wurzak Hotel Group will manage the hotels.
Brian McGuinness, Global Brand Leader of Specialty Select Brands for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, explained that Starwood’s dual-branded properties give travelers the ability to experience the best of both properties in one place.
“While someone may want the independent feel of the Tribute Portfolio, another may want the calm oasis of an Element. There is really something for everybody,” he said.
Tribute Portfolio is a newly debuted brand for the hotel chain, encompassing four-star-quality boutique hotels. It debuted in April with the Royal Palm South Beach in Miami Beach.
Element hotels are designed for health-conscious, active travelers looking for a sense of balance and relaxation. The Element in Fort Lauderdale will offer complimentary Bikes to Borrow as well as its daily RISE breakfast—featuring smoothies, granola, omelets, fresh fruit, coffee and pastries—and a RELAX evening wine reception.
In addition, the Element hotel’s studio rooms feature fully equipped kitchens and spa-inspired bathrooms.
