Tastemakers 2015 To Take Over Downtown Delray In August
Delray Beach is giving locals a tasty way to enjoy a couple of summer nights.
The annual Tastemakers event will take place Aug. 5 and 6, beginning at 5:30 p.m. and ending at 9:30 p.m. both evenings.
The tickets, or “passports,” get participants a sampling of food and drink from 18 different restaurants — including 50 Ocean, Max’s Harvest and Mellow Mushroom — in downtown Delray Beach. Most restaurants will be offering a pairing of a drink with a tasting portion of their favorite dishes.
Each passport is $30, and it serves as admission for both nights. Most restaurants also have deals and promotions going on until Sept. 30 for passport-holders.
But Tastemakers isn’t just about the food: $1 from each passport purchased will go to support Delray Beach’s Campaign for Grade Level Reading.
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, but there is also free shuttle service both nights for those who want to rest their legs.
One restaurant, Caffe Luna Rosa, is offering Tastemakers participants their homemade Florida lobster and crab bisque with Rudi Wiest Hooked Riesling.
Passport holders can also visit Caffe Luna Rosa any time before Sept. 30 to receive a free bottle of house-selected wine with any two entrees or two bottles of house-selected wine with any four entrees.
Passports can be purchased at any participating restaurant.
