These Boca, Delray Restaurants Will Give You Free Food If You Donate Money To End Childhood Hunger In September
Give, and you shall receive. That's the motto this month at two local restaurants offering their customers special ways to give back—and get free food in return.
Donate a few dollars to charity, and get a free chargrilled cheeseburger or $5 off your next Italian meal. Yes, it's really that easy.
Habit Burger in Delray Beach and BRIO Tuscan Grille in Boca Raton are both supporting Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign for the month of September. The nonprofit's effort aims to end childhood hunger in the United States.
Customers who visit any Habit Burger Grill restaurant, including the Delray location that opened in June, will have the opportunity to make donations to the No Kid Hungry campaign at the register.
Guests who make a $2 donation through Sept. 30 will receive a certificate for a free Charburger with cheese on their next visit. Vouchers are redeemable through Oct. 14.
The California-based chain is no stranger to working with Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign. Since 2010, Habit Burger has partnered with the organization by donating 100 percent of the proceeds from more than 20 of its restaurants' grand openings.
"We are honored and humbled to take this effort to the next level and help keep our nation’s children healthy,” said Russ Bendel, Habit Burger's chief executive officer.
Also in southern Palm Beach County, BRIO Tuscan Grille at The Shops at Boca Center (and the restaurant's other South Florida locations) is offering a number of ways to support Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign in September.
The easiest? Until Sept. 27, guests who donate $5 or more will receive $5 off their next purchase of $15 or more (valid until Oct. 31). Customers will be able to easily add their donation to the bill at the end of the meal.
