UberEats Is Now Delivering To Hollywood-Area, And More Parts Of Broward Can Expect It Soon
Uber is now in the food delivery biz, and the Hollywood area is the first in Broward to enjoy it.
UberEats, a separate mobile app that works much like Uber itself, launched service from Dania Beach down to Miami on Tuesday, July 12. Users can order food delivery for a flat rate from over 100 of South Florida's best local restaurants, including Miami Smokers, DIRT and The Salty Donut.
With UberEats, couriers are sent to pick up your order and then deliver it to your door with an average order completion time of 35 minutes. There's a fee of $4.99 for delivery—which has been waived for a limited time—and, like with Uber, there's no need to tip.
West Park, Hallandale, Hollywood and Dania Beach are the first Broward municipalities to have access. Further expansion into Broward and Palm Beach counties is expected in the coming weeks, according to an Uber representative.
For now, Uber drivers will only deliver as far north as Dania Beach, but this also means those Broward residents can order delivery from anywhere else in the coverage area, including Aventura, Miami Beach, Wynwood and beyond.
UberEats runs from 8 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week, subject to restaurants' operating hours.
