Weston Ranks Among Best Cities In Florida For Young Families
If you're looking to start a family, this Broward city might just be the place to settle down.
Financial website NerdWallet ranked Weston as the fifth best city in Florida for young families to live in. The city ranked ahead of other Fort Lauderdale suburbs such as Parkland (14), Cooper City (15), Davie (20) and Pembroke Pines (26).
NerdWallet created the ranking based off of four factors: home affordability, growth and prosperity, family friendliness, and educational quality. The data was taken from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2013 American Community Survey.
In Weston, 42 percent of households in Weston have children, and families have great options for their children’s education. As the study notes, the average score for Weston schools is a nine out of 10, according to Great Schools.
"Active families will also want to take advantage of the city’s 46 miles of bike trails, many of which offer a unique perspective of the Everglades," NerdWallet writes.
As it turns out, NerdWallet wasn't the first to recognize all Weston has to offer. In 2012, the city was named one of Money Magazine's best places to live.
