Weston Shoppers Are The Biggest Holiday Spenders In The State, According To New Study
Weston has the most holiday spirit in the state of Florida—at least that's what our wallets say.
Financial website WalletHub ranked individuals' average holiday spending habits across 563 U.S. cities, and Weston earned the top spot in the state. The Broward County city also ranked among the nation's top 40.
In its analysis, WalletHub considered people's incomes, debt, expenses and savings, and how those financial patterns compare to one another.
According to the study, Weston shoppers, who earned the city the No. 37 spot on the list, budget an average of $1,523 toward holiday spending.
Up in Palm Beach County, Boca Raton was ranked No. 52 on the national list, with people spending an average of $1,374 during the holidays.
Nationally, the per-person holiday spending average is expected to reach $805.65 this year, the highest on record with the National Retail Federation.
