Where To Eat, Drink, Party And Brunch For New Year's 2016 In Broward County
2016 is so close we can taste it—or is that just the champagne talking?
On New Year's Eve, there are plenty of restaurants, bars and hotels hosting festive multi-course meals or parties where you can drink and dance the night away right here in Fort Lauderdale. Check out our picks, and get your plans set early, before these local spots run out of reservations.
Here's where to eat, drink, party—and recover from it all with a big brunch the morning after—as you ring in the new year in Broward County.
New Year's Eve Dinners
The Hallandale steakhouse invites guests to say, "III Cheers to the New Year." Choose from the featured dinner selection—filet mignon with cold water lobster tail—and sip on featured drinks, including Chandon Brut Classic and Moet & Chandon Imperial.
The restaurant at The Atlantic Hotel & Spa will offer two feast-style dinner seatings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. ($59) and 9 p.m. to midnight ($119). The first includes a three-course meal with a pig roast, and the latter features a four-course dinner with entertainment, including a DJ, party favors and a midnight champagne toast. In addition, an elegant, four-course New Year's Eve Dinner Under The Stars will take place at 8:30 p.m. ($129) on the fifth-floor oceanfront terrace. Semi-formal attire is recommended.
The following specialty items will be on the menu for New Year's Eve:
- Creamed oyster stew with bacon, Pernod, potatoes and cream $14
- Roasted prime rib with fingerling potatoes and market vegetables $34
- Lobster and scallop risotto with corn and black truffle $33
Make your New Year's dinner reservation at Boatyard beginning at 6 p.m. and join in on a champagne toast at midnight to celebrate the start of 2016 at this revamped restaurant along the Intracoastal.
Between Dec. 31 and Jan. 2, BRIO is serving a three-course New Year's prix fixe menu, ranging from $28.95 to $38.95. Start with your choice of soups or salads, continue with crab- and shrimp-crusted mahi mahi or strip steak with black pepper shrimp, and finish with a petite dessert.
The Japanese craft kitchen will be serving up a one-night-only, pre fixe menu for $180 per person, while DJ Romina spins for guests. The seven courses include lobster tempura, roasted grouper, charcoal-grilled wagyu and more. Reservations for the family-style dinner will be available from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Get a preview of Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort's new fine dining concept on New Year's Eve. The steakhouse will be serving guests from 5 p.m. to midnight before opening to the public in 2016. Reservations are required.
The following specialty items will be on the menu for New Year's Eve:

- Duck yolk raviolo en brodo, shaved urbani white truffle $18

Special dishes being served for New Year's Eve include roasted red beet salad, braised pork belly, veal scaloppine, Sunday gravy, seafood ragu and tiramisu. The regular menu will also be available.
Harbor Beach Marriott's on-property restaurant will host a New Year's Eve dinner ($60 per adult, $30 per child), with entrees including smoked braised short ribs, Florida black grouper and lobster risotto with saffron and a chocolate fountain for dessert. Seatings are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Call 954.765.3100 for reservations.
Attend the $199 "Over The Top" dinner from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Start off the night with a cocktail hour and hors d'oeuvres and continue with a five-course dinner in the penthouse, which has floor-to-ceiling ocean views. Enjoy the premium open bar, DJ, dancing and midnight champagne toast.
New Year's Eve Parties
During Brimstone's New Year's Eve Bash, guests will dance the night away with live music by local Latin music singer/songwriter Bryan Gonzalez and enjoy drink specials, from $5 cocktails to $10 champagne. Giveaways will be distributed throughout the night.

Enjoy live music by Classic Rock Therapy right on the ocean, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
- Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville
Enjoy dinner and dancing at the two-story restaurant with live music by 30 Vice from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Countdown to 2016 with party favors, a champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight. No reservations accepted.
- 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill
Start with sunset on the Intracoastal and continue on to party the night away. Enjoy live music by Mike Distefano from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. and countdown to 2016 with a midnight champagne toast.
- LandShark Bar & Grill
Sip on cocktails at this oceanfront bar while listening to live music coming from the Hollywood Beach Bandshell. Enjoy a champagne toast at midnight. No reservations accepted.
Martini Bar is hosting a Havana Nights-themed party starting at 8 p.m. Enjoy free party favors, a champagne toast at midnight and live streaming of the Times Square ball drop on all TVs.
From 10 p.m. to 2 a.m, enjoy an open bar, dancing, live DJ and streaming of the ball drop from Times Square on the hotel's pool deck for $75.
Guests can enjoy passed hors d'oeuvres, live music and more. In addition to the restaurant's 42 craft beers on tap and unlimited champagne, the full top-shelf bar will be available, plus partygoers can celebrate with a champagne toast at midnight. Then, starting at 1 a.m., Tap 42 will offer a breakfast buffet with some of the restaurant's most popular brunch items. Tickets are $95.
New Year's Day Brunch
For the second year, Beauty & the Feast invites guests to wash away 2015 with a plunge into the ocean. At 10:30 a.m., meet at Lifeguard Tower 11 on Fort Lauderdale Beach (ball gowns and tuxedos are as welcome as bathing suits). Following the dive (and getting dried off and changed), enjoy a pre fixe brunch featuring lobster omelets, eggs benedict, bananas foster French toast and more for $29.50 per person until 2:30 p.m. Those who register for the plunge receive 2016 New Year's Day favors and refreshments, but walk-ins are welcome.
Enjoy brunch favorites, such as Big City's crab cake eggs benedict, while sipping on $12 bottomless mimosas and bloody marys with the purchase of an entree.
From 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., enjoy Brimstone's special New Year's Day brunch with new dishes, such as shrimp and grits and a brunch flatbread, and brunch favorites including steak benedict, frittata española and pancakes. Bottomless mimosas will be available on discount for $10.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy $15 bottomless mimosas and bloody marys alongside brunch favorites, such as the Southern Benedict made with fried chicken, pimento cheese and a sunny side up egg on a buttermilk biscuit.
The Italian eatery on Las Olas will offer its brunch menu, which features dishes such as porchetta hash, and $12 unlimited mimosas and bloody marys with the purchase of an entree.
On New Year's Day only, Rocco's Tacos will offer unlimited margaritas alongside $12 endless mimosas and bloody marys with the purchase of an entree, plus its usual brunch menu, which includes dishes such as the wet burrito con huevos.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., enjoy a live DJ, $15 bottomless mimosas and bloody marys, and items from ROK:BRGR's Sunday brunch menu—on Friday. Brunch options include Fat Elvis Waffles with bananas, peanut butter, candied bacon and maple syrup as well as the short rib omelet.
When Steak 954 opens for brunch on Jan. 1, guests can enjoy dishes such as the short rib eggs benedict with potato pancake, Cuban-style egg sandwich with pulled pork and Swiss, and American wagyu sliders.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., enjoy a live DJ and $15 bottomless mimosas and bloody Marys. TacoCraft's Mexican-inspired brunch dishes include huevos rancheros and the hangover burrito with chorizo, Chihuahua cheese, potatoes and crema.
