The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County Hosts The 7th Annual “Future Tastes Great” Iron Chef Competition
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County (BGCBC) will host the 7th Annual Future Tastes Great Iron Chef Competition on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Hugh’s Culinary in Oakland Park. This fun and unique fundraiser will raise the necessary funds to operate the Boys & Girls Clubs’ Culinary Arts Program which is conducted at the Leo Goodwin Foundation Teen Center at the Levine/Slaughter Boys & Girls Club in North Lauderdale. The Culinary Arts program is just one of the many specialized Career Exploration Programs that are available for Boys & Girls Club teen members to help introduce them to alternative career opportunities.
“The Future Tastes Great event is critical to our Culinary Arts Program. We are so thankful for the volunteers and board members who are contributing to making the event a success. Culinary Arts and other career exploratory programs are important in preparing members of BGCBC for life skills in the workplace and in the home,” said Brian Quail, President/CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.
Some of the participating chefs include executive chefs from: Sette Bello Restaurant, Havana Pizza, Oceans 234, Sabroso Sauce and more! The 7th Annual Future Tastes Great participating chefs will treat guests to an array of delectable delights. Participating chefs will all be given the same ingredients and then judged in a cook-off. Guests will also enjoy a full buffet dinner in addition to libations, live entertainment and a live and silent auction.
