Epicurean Escapade: A Food & Wine Experience to Benefit the Holy Cross Hospital Phil Smith Neuroscience Institute / Saturday, April 21, 2018

The Sixth Annual Epicurean Escapade: A Food & Wine Experience will take guests on a culinary adventure through the cuisines of Thailand, France, the Floribbean region and the Southern United States on Saturday, April 21 at the Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA), 1855 Griffin Road in Dania Beach, all to benefit the Phil Smith ALS and Movement Disorders Clinic at the Phil Smith Neuroscience Institute at Holy Cross Hospital.

With title sponsor JM Family Enterprises, Inc. and presenting sponsor The Guerrieri Family Foundation, Epicurean Escapade kicks off with a cocktail reception beginning at 6:30 p.m. Guests will then be treated to an evening of international gourmet specialties prepared by culinary expert Thierry Isambert and fine wine and beer pairings, while dancing the night away to the Jerry Wayne band. A bid-board auction will feature weekend getaways, a trip to New Orleans, a 14-day Crystal Cruise, and other enticing options.

Co-chairs for Epicurean Escapade 2018 are Vicki Homer, Cheryl Lamb and Julie Valent. Honorary physician hosts are Dr. Eduardo Locatelli and Dr. Jon Kotler.

The Phil Smith Neuroscience Institute opened in November 2017, providing patients in Broward and Palm Beach counties with access to first-class research and leading edge clinical trials and treatments through an expanded relationship with Massachusetts General Hospital, the largest teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. There are more than 15 neuro physician specialists at the Phil Smith Neuroscience Institute at Holy Cross. The Institute meets the needs of patients living with neurological diseases and conditions, providing care and enhancing access to services and treatment.

“Through our Phil Smith Neuroscience Institute, we are honoring Phil’s vision and spirit,” said Holy Cross President and CEO Patrick Taylor, M.D. “We appreciate our Epicurean Escapade chairs, committee members and Holy Cross Auxiliary who have worked tirelessly on bringing this event to life.”

Additional sponsors of Epicurean Escapade include the Medical Staff of Holy Cross Hospital, Bacardi as the beverage sponsor, and Gold Coast / Fort Lauderdale as the media sponsor.

Epicurean Escapade 2018 marks the 62nd year for the Holy Cross Auxiliary’s annual fundraiser benefiting the non-profit hospital. Tickets are $300 per person. For more information, contact Elaine Lacker at 954-229-8562 or via email at elaine.lacker@holy-cross.com.
