The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida will host Building Bridges, the organizations Third Annual Fundraising Gala Brunch, Sunday, February 5, at Fort Lauderdale’s Hyatt Regency Pier 66.
The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida invites the community to celebrate a season of “Building Bridges” with the Third Annual Fundraising Gala Brunch on February 5, 2017 at the Hyatt Pier 66. From 11:00 a.m. 2:30 p.m., guests will enjoy an open bar, live performances, fantastic food and live and silent auctions. The gala and auction strive to raise over $50,000 for the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida to continue their work in the community. The Chorus uses a blend of inspirational concerts, meaningful education programs, local collaborations, and community service activities to provide access to quality arts exploring LGBT issues to as many people as possible.
Building Bridges will invite 500 guests to the Hyatt Pier 66 to build support for GMCSF’s concerts and programs. The event will feature a served brunch with unlimited bloody marys, mimosas, and an open bar. Performances by the Chorus will entertain guests in between the live and silent auctions which feature items such as cruises, private dinners, hotel stays, works of art, and even a chance to conduct the full chorus at a mainstage concert! “After a tumultuous year for the LGBT community, the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida’s role in this community is more important than ever,” explains Michael Mendillo, the Director of Development for the Chorus. “About half of the Chorus budget depends on contributed revenue, and this community has nurtured the success and mission of the organization for seven years. The theme of the event this year is “Building Bridges,” celebrating the diverse community of South Florida and the many organizations, businesses, and individuals with which GMCSF has connected.”
The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida is the largest gay men’s chorus in the Southeast with over 150 members who deliver on a passionate mission to inspire hearts and change minds through the power of music. The Chorus performed for over 12,000 people last season, and most recently held a concert for over 1,400 audience members at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The organization also participates in a number of community service activities and will perform in Broward County schools this year to combat bullying and promote messages of love and inclusion. Tickets to the Third Annual Fundraising Gala Brunch, Building Bridges, are available online at gmcsf.org or by contact the Chorus office at 954-763-2266.
